> Generally, the sign of the plural is the addition of the letter s to the noun:

> Nouns ending in s, x, or z remain unchanged in the plural:
Un nez - Des nez
La noix - Les noix
> Words ending in -AL change this termination to -AUX:
Le cheval - Les chevaux
Le journal - Les journaux
** Exceptions: bal, caranaval, chacal, festival, régal, récital. Which add s to become Bals, Carnavals, chacals.
> Words ending in -EU, -AU, -EAU add the letter x:
L'oiseaux - Les oiseaux

> Ending in -AIL, Become -AUX

> Seven nouns ending in ou, add a x, for the others, add a s like the general rule:
